Emily Spirk is a Mezzo-Soprano in Denver. She sings at public and private events, including opera productions, chamber music concerts, church services, and personal recitals. Emily combines her many years of vocal study with her acting ability and comedic instinct to create distinctly intriguing characters on stage. She is particularly effective in satiric and comedic roles. In all areas of her art, Emily seeks to bring her performances to a level which inspires true emotion in the listener.

BIOGRAPHY

Emily Spirk is a Mezzo-Soprano from Kansas City who has performed across America including Missouri, Colorado, Arizona, California, and Washington D.C. She began studying voice in 2004 at the UMKC Conservatory of Music. Emily won the University of Arizona's 40th Annual President’s Concerto Competition in 2013. Emily performed the roles of Vera Boronel in The Consul, La Zelatrice in Suor Angelica, Zita in Gianni Schicchi, Dorothée in Cendrillon, Mrs. Buchanan/Second Nursemaid in Street Scene, Alma March in Mark Adamo's Little Women, and Julia Child in Hoiby's one-act opera Bon Appetit. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arizona with a BM in Vocal Performance studying with Faye Robinson and a minor in French. In 2015, Emily acquired a MM in Vocal Performance from the UMKC Conservatory of Music studying with Dr. Anne DeLaunay. She sang with Austin Opera during the 2015/2016 Season and currently sings with Opera Colorado and Opera On Tap. Emily has been a staff singer and cantor at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver, CO since 2017.
